Welcome to my blog!

Hey everybody this is my new blog all about the game Hearthstone, developed by Blizzard. It’s one of my favorite games and I thought It’d be fun to create a blog about it where I can share my experiences with it, such as new decks I’m making, card backs, the arena, solo adventures, my rank, strategies, etc. I hope you all enjoy my posts and feel free to comment on them and tell your friends. Enough of this blogging for now, hone your weapons and spells and let’s battle!

Business Card (Large layout)

  1. Description: A business card and letterhead designed to promote my wedding video business and provide potential clients with the company’s information.
  2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I first started by considering the name of my videography business. Cerulean is a shade of blue, and a pixel is a small area of illumination on a display screen, one of many that makes up an image. I then started drawing out ideas on paper and wanted to make the blue pixel the center of the design with smaller pixels around it. I then got into opened up Adobe Illustrator and started drawing square shapes. I used the polygon tool to draw a 3D pixel with a thick black stoke, and the line tool with pointed edges to put inside the polygon to make it look like a cube. I then created 3 rectangles and altered the corners to make them slanted rectangles to go inside the regions of the cube. I colored each of them a different shade of cerulean blue for a monochromatic color scheme. After that I rotated the cube to my desired orientation and created 8 copies of it and made them grayscale. I varied the sizes of all the smaller cubes and placed them around the big blue cube to give the feeling of pixels floating around together. I then found a font I liked on dafonts.com and typed, “Cerulean Pixel Studios.” I copied the blue cube and replaced the dots on the “i’s” within the text to be the blue cubes. I then scaled the art board down to the edges of the logo and saved the .ai. I placed the logo in Adobe Indesign to make the business card. I created a 3.5″ x 2″ rectangle and applied a light gray color to it. I added an inner glow effect and made the color inside a shade of cerulean to make it look like the pixel is radiating. I then selected all of the text and added a white outer glow to the text. After that I proceeded to make the back of the business card. I wrote out all of the company member’s names and roles. I some logos I liked for all of the contact information and placed the corresponding information to the right of them. I placed the logo to the side of the back of the design with a 50% opacity and drew a small cerulean rectangle and placed it in a vertical orientation to the left of the text. Once my business card was complete I created the letterhead. I placed the logo in the middle of the page with a very light opacity for a watermark. I then drew a large rectangle with the same inner glow effect as the background to my business card, making it more subtle. I placed the logo once more in the top left of the letterhead inside the rectangle I drew. I left room for a white rectangle towards the top right of the letterhead where I could put the company member’s names and the information. I then drew 2 blue thinner rectangles to separate everything at the top of the letterhead. That was my entire process to create the stationery.
  3. Message: I wanted the logo to reflect professionalism and creativity. Potential clients are interested in a skilled and unique style for videos they want and I thought this logo and design would reflect that. I wanted to emphasize simplicity and used cerulean blue because it reflects things like stability, wisdom, confidence, and it is calming.
  4. Audience: Any potential clients who are wanting a professional video created for them. It would most likely be for engaged couples, their parents, and businesses that want promotional videos created for them.
  5. Top Thing Learned: I learned the importance of drafting and playing with the tools in illustrator to come up with ideas. I began using shape tools and considered my company and eventually got inspiration.
  6. Color scheme and color names: Blue (cerulean shade), monochromatic.
  7. Title Font Name & Category: LondonBetween, sans serif.
  8. Copy Font Name & Category: Kefa, Modern. LondonBetween, sans serif.

Exciting News for Hearthstone!

2641235-1384894906-23726

Hey everybody I hope you’ve all been finding fortune in your quests and slaying opponents on your path to legend rank! Blizzard just recently announced that they will be having a special announcement regarding Hearthstone on July 20th. The event will be at 2:30 P.M. in California, but will also be streamed live on Hearthstone’s Twitch channel for any duelers who wish to tune in. According to Blizzard the event will consist of a few very special Hearthstone matches, shop-talk with developers, and one momentous announcement! I don’t know about you guys but I’m jumping out of my seat to find out what the announcement is going to be. Will it be a brand new solo adventure? a new expansion card set? a new game mode? The long awaited deck slot expansion? Only time will tell but I have faith that we won’t be let down. The event is also going to feature some important people in the Hearthstone community including Frodan and Kipparian. We will also see game director Eric Dodds at the event and the Hearthstone World Champion, Firebat! According to Blizzard, space is limited at this momentous gathering so if you are planning on attending it might be too late or you had better get going on it quick to plan your journey.Guests will also have the privilege of battling other guests and will likely be awarded the fireside gathering card back, which is one of the cooler looking ones I think and one I wouldn’t mind getting myself. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it to the convention because of school and work but if any of you are able to make it congratulations and please feel free to leave a comment on your adventure! That is all my fellow Hearthstone fans, may we all be mystified when the announcement is unveiled and make sure you don’t miss it!

Tavern Brawl is Finally Here!

image

That’s right, the wait is over and tavern brawl is officially here! This is a new multiplayer game type recently added to hearthstone. Tavern brawl puts you up against other players with a variety of new and exciting rules that change every week. These rules can range from playing some of the single player bosses and harnessing their power yourself or having a deck full of only web spinners! At the beginning of the week the game type changes and you have the entire week to play tavern brawl in all of its glory. You are also rewarded a courtesy pack of cards your first victory every week when the rules and gameplay changes. This last week’s tavern brawl was my favorite because you are given a deck full of 30 web spinners, which is a minion with 1 health and 1 attack and with a deathrattle that says,” whenever this minion dies, put a random beast card into your hand.” It made the game really unpredictable and fun because you never knew what creatures you were going to get and I found myself having several legendary cards in my hand which were loads of fun to play and see. The week before that the player was able to at as nefarian or deathwing, which are both legendary dragon bosses from the solo adventure. You were given several cards exclusive only to them and you were able to use their ridiculously over powered hero powers and spells which was a lot of fun because of how powerful it made you feel! I have loved tavern brawl so far as it has added a whole new play mode and style to the game that I can’t stop playing. It’s definitely a well made addition to the game and I’m happy to share the news on here for all you readers, so what are you waiting for? Go see for yourself why they call it tavern brawl!

The Might of Mages!

Meet Jaina Proudmoore, the mage. Hearthstone has several different characters/ classes to choose from and each have exclusive hero powers and cards that make them unique and powerful in their own way. My personal favorite character to play as is Jaina. Her class is oriented around spell use and controlling the game. Spells such as polymorph and mirror image are sure to keep your opponents at bay while you save up enough mana to summon your minions and blast them with a fireball! Her power is a fireblast which deals one damage to any character of your choosing and can be very beneficial during a match. I encourage all you to try her out as she is my favorite class in the game. Last season I achieved a rank of 13 in nearly an hour with a mage deck that I created, it was ruthless.. To help some of you out I am going to post the cards in my deck below. If you dont have some of the cards in my deck yet, find substitutes or craft them but go ahead and check it out and let me know what you think. Hearth on me hearthies!

Jordan’s Mage Deck contents:

1 x Mirror Image. 1 x Cogmaster. 1x Mana Wyrm. 2 x Flamecannon. 2 x Frostbolt. 2 x Unstable Portal. 2 x Annoy-o-Tron. 2 x Mechwarper. 2 x Snowchugger. 2 x Sorcerer’s Apprentice. 1 x Arcane Intellect. 2 x Acolyte of Pain. 2 x Flamewalker. 1 x Harvest Golem. 1 x Spider Tank. 2 x Fireball. 2 x Polymorph. 1 x Enhance-o-Mechano. 1 x Goblin Blastmage. 1 x Piloted Shredder. 1 x Flamestrike.

Hearthstone Now Available on Mobile Devices!

The wait is finally up, Hearthstone is now available on mobile devices and as always is free to play! As many know, Hearthstone has exclusively been on the PC and iPad in the past. With the release of the game on mobile devices I have admittedly been playing much more than I ever used to and it is as fun as I remember! This is good news to fans of the game as we can take it with us wherever we want now.
